In 2011 we celebrated the20th Anniversary of the club
The 20th Anniversary Dinner was held at Rawdon Golf Club on 30 September 2011. This was a successful event enjoyed by members and guests including Ken Grogan who started the Club in 1991 and past Chairman Shirley Jackson.
On Tuesday 23rd February 2010 the Club Dinner was held at The Old Barn, Esholt
In 1991, Ken Grogan was one of a small group of cardiac patients who recognised the need to improve their fitness and take the advice of the then cardiac consultant at Otley, Dr. K.E. Birkin. They took up her suggestion of forming a ‘Cardiac Rehab. Club’ after completing the hospital’s own rehabilitation scheme. Ken has taken the lead organising and directing the club, providing inspiration and taking it from strength to strength.
14 years on, Ken hung up his trainers and decided to leave the organising to others. In gratitude, Ken was given a presentation on behalf of the Club, by Committee Chairman, Frank Grant at a function attended by over fifty members and wives held at the Emmott Arms in Rawdon.
