 Exercise Sessions
Content and Equipment

Each of our exercise sessions is held under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

All equipment is provided and includes professional standard exercise machines, such as a treadmill, exercise bikes, rowing machine and a cross-trainer

Training shoes and clothes which allow easy movement are all that is required.

Each member is free to exercise to his or her own level under the guidance of the instructor.

Exercise sessions are not competitive and typically comprise:

  1. A set of group warm up exercises led by the instructor lasting 10 to 15 minutes:
  2. A circuit of exercises lasting 30 to 40 minutes specially designed by the instructor to improve fitness, strength, stamina and suppleness.
  3. A short  set of group exercises led by the instructor to ensure proper cool down;
  4. A set of floor exercises aimed at improving suppleness.

There is no fixed charge for attending exercise sessions, however as the club is entirely dependant on donations to cover the cost of professional instructors, members are asked to make a small donation each time they attend an exercise class.

The current recommended donation is £4 per person per session, which allows the club to cover its costs and break even.

Each exercise session lasts up to 90 minutes.

There are currently four sessions each week:

Monday   18.00 to 19.30
Monday   19.30 to 21.00
Thursday 18.00 to 19.30
Thursday 19.30 to 21.00

All exercise sessions are held in the Physiotherapy gym in the Wharfedale Hospital in Otley.

Select "Location and Parking" from the menu above for more information and directions to the gym.
