ROUTE 1
Many new members join after attending a cardiac rehabilitation programme (sometimes referred referred to as Phase 3), which is provided by the local NHS Trust and usually takes place shortly after a cardiac event. If you have completed a cardiac rehabilitation prgramme you may then be offered the opportunity to be referred to us for further ongoing cardiac rehabilitation.
You will normally be issued with paperwork from the cardiac rehabilitation programme, which our instructors will need to see to assess your exercising capability and the amount of monitoring required. However, if you don't have any paperwork, please don't let that put you off. Just contact us by email or on one of the numbers below to discuss joining our exercise classes.
ROUTE 2
The second route is for those who have not participated in a cardiac rehabilitation programme. Usually we will ask you to obtain confirmation from your GP to confirm that you are OK to exercise. We can provide a standard form for you to take to your GP for this purpose.
Alternatively, you may wish to contact us by phone or email to introduce yourself and discuss the process of joining.
YOUR FIRST EXERCISE SESSION
Please bear in mind that if the above formalities have not been completed. the instructor may not allow you to exercise until he/she is completely satisfied that your health and medication allow you to undertake the exercises. Assuming everything is in order, at your first session you will be asked to complete a membership form before the class starts.
